NEWS: Broadway production of Les Miserables set to tour the UK

Musical theatre fans are going crazy after news that the Broadway production of Les Misérables is to tour the UK this year.

The show will open at Curve, Leicester in November before touring to Dublin, Edinburgh and Manchester. Further dates will be announced in due course. Producer, Cameron Mackintosh, said:

"This latest version comes hot from its recent Broadway triumph, now once again on a sell-out tour of North America, and is even more spectacular than the original.

"I am very proud that this extraordinary Boublil and Schönberg musical remains as fresh, thrilling and exciting as ever – and people are still storming the barricades for a ticket."

The new staging has scenery inspired by the paintings of Victor Hugo and has toured to North America, South America, Korea, Japan, Canada, Australia, Dubai and Singapore.

Les Misérables is Boublil and Schönberg's much loved adaptation of Victor Hugo's novel, with songs including "I Dreamed a Dream", "On My Own" and "Bring Him Home". The show is currently running in the West End, and first opened in France in 1980. It last toured the UK in 2010.

Les Misérables opens at Curve Leicester on 3rd November and then tours until 30th March 2019.
