Full casting has been announced for the UK and Ireland tour of ‘Wicked’, which arrives at Birmingham Hippodrome in April.
Joining the previously announced Aaron Sidwell (EastEnders, American Idiot) will be Amy Ross as Elphaba and Helen Woolf as Glinda.
Ross was most recently seen playing Nicola in the West End production of ‘Kinky Boots’ and Woolf joins the touring cast from the West End production of the show, where she understudied the role of Glinda.
Also joining the cast is Steven Pinder as The Wizard and Doctor Dillamond, Kim Ismay as Madame Morrible, Emily Shaw as Nessarose and Iddon Jones as Boq.
A three-time winner of the WhatsOnStage Award for Best West End Show and a two-time winner of the Olivier Audience Award, Wicked previously toured from 2013 to 2015, with an international tour from 2016 visiting Singapore, Hong Kong, Manila, Shanghai and Beijing.
The production is one of the West End and Broadway’s most loved musicals, having played in the capital since 2006 and in New York since 2003. It’s based on the novel Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West by Gregory Maguire and tells the story of the Wizard of Oz...from the other side of the coin!
It has music and lyrics by multi-Grammy and Academy Award-winner Stephen Schwartz and is adapted for the stage by Winnie Holzman.
‘Wicked’ opens at Birmingham Hippodrome on Wednesday 4th April 2018 and runs until Sunday 29th April. For more information or to buy tickets, check birminghamhippodrome.com
