Appeal after serious hit-and-run collision

Police are appealing for information after a hit-and-run collision in Wolverhampton which left a cyclist with serious injuries.

Officers want to trace the driver of a red Ford Fiesta that was recovered from the scene following the collision on Wolverhampton Road, at around 8.50pm on Wednesday.

Two cyclists were taken to hospital where a 48-year-old woman remains in a serious condition. A 50-year-old cyclist, who was also taken to hospital, remains in a stable condition. Sergeant Mark Bull from the Traffic Unit at West Midlands Police, said:

"We need the help of the public to assist us in our investigation after two people, one seriously injured, are in hospital. We have a number of active lines of enquiry and would urge the driver to do the right thing and come forward to explain their side of the story."
