Appeal following Walsall carjacking

Detectives are appealing for witnesses after a nasty carjacking in Walsall on Saturday afternoon.

A grey Nissan Juke registration DV18 CXA was stolen from a woman on Stoney Lane, Bloxwich just after 2pm. The woman, who is in her 40s, had pulled onto the driveway of a house she was visiting when a man approached her and pulled her out of her car.

As he started to reverse the car off the drive, the woman managed to grab hold of the driver’s door and was dragged along for a short distance. She sustained a broken arm and facial injuries. Sergeant Craig Lewis, from the force’s CID, said:

“This was a horrifying incident which has left the victim with some nasty injuries. She is understandably shocked and upset by what happened in broad daylight.

“I’m appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen something, or anyone who may have dashcam footage to get in touch, if they haven’t already.

“I’m also looking for the Nissan Juke (which has taping on the driver side wing mirror and a small hole on the passenger side rear door) as it has not been recovered yet. If you’ve seen it anywhere please report it to us.”
