Belbroughton Newsagents Falls Victim To Armed Robbery

Masked men armed with a knife have forced a woman to open a safe at a newsagents and threatened a man.

The armed robbery happened at McColls newsagents in Belbroughton on Sunday evening as the men burst into the High Street store at around 9.30pm.

After forcing the the woman to open the safe and threatening a male member of staff with the knife, they left the store with cash and cigarettes.

As they left they also threatened another member of the public with the knife.

They then fled the scene in a silver car, believed to be an Audi, which had been parked near to the Horseshoe public house. No-one was injured during the incident.

West Mercia police has launched an investigation and officers would like to hear from anyone who was in the area and saw anything suspicious, or has any information which would help them with their enquiries.
