Birmingham Airport has reported its highest ever recorded passenger figures for the month of October 2018.

The Airport welcomed more than 1.1 million passengers through its doors; a 6.1% increase on last year and the overall best October to date.

The top three most visited destinations in October were Dublin, Amsterdam and Dubai and the destinations which experienced the highest passenger growth in the month of October versus last year include Venice (+98.7%), Krakow (+95.1%) and Naples (+83%). Simon Richards, Acting Managing Director at Birmingham Airport said:

“Recording our best October in the Airport’s 79-year history signifies an exciting period for us. We have recently released our draft Master Plan which explains how the Airport plans to grow passenger numbers and deliver improved facilities for our airlines and passengers over the next 15 years, and these figures show that we are moving in the right direction.

“We have already made significant investments across the terminal and the surrounding areas of the Airport including an improved security search area, a new on-site hotel and more car parking.

"This investment has recently earned us the title of the *UK’s Best Airport for airports above 10 million passengers as well as the most family friendly airport in the UK and Ireland. Looking forward to 2019, we will continue to place customer service at the heart of everything we do.”
