Birmingham City University ranked as world-class to study Art and Design

The Universities faculty of Art, Design and Media has placed 151-200 in the world for Art and Design in the QS World University Rankings 2019 by subject.

The QS World University Rankings is a list of the world’s top universities, which allows students who want to study abroad to compare institutions by region and by subject to find the most suitable course. It uses five key metrics to evaluate universities all over the world, which include academic reputation, employer reputation, faculty/student ratio, citations per faculty and International faculty ratio/international student ratio. Pro Vice-Chancellor and Executive Dean of ADM, Professor Alison Honour, said:

“We are incredibly excited as a faculty to be ranked as one of the top universities in the world to study Art and Design as this recognises the excellence in the internationalisation of our learning and teaching, research impact and global reach of our creative students and staff.

“We have worked hard to establish high quality, sustained and meaningful international partnerships and to develop strong links with our international alumni networks as global employers of our graduates.

“This world ranking also opens up new opportunities for international collaborations and partnerships, helping to put BCU on a new global platform with other outstanding Universities around the world whilst continuing to attract talented international students to study at BCU."
