Black Country supermarkets selling boxes of unsold food to cut waste

Morrisons is set to become the first supermarket in the UK to offer boxes of unsold food to help fight food waste.

The supermarket giant will sell food that has reached its  best before date - the point it would usually be binned - through a ground-breaking app called Too Good to Go.

Customers will be able to use the service to purchase boxes of unsold fruit and vegetables, baked goods and deli items worth up to £10 for just £3.09.

Customers purchase through the app and collect from their local store.

The new service launches today in all 494 branches nationwide. Find your nearest Morrisons supermarket using the online store finder .
