Nursery children from Brierley Hill Primary School were given age-specific books, donated by intu Merry Hill, to review for World Book Day on 3rd March.

The children had the task of drawing a picture or writing a review on their book and then rated the book out of five.

The pupils were recently involved in a project to write a story and design a cover with a bird theme, to coincide with the 'RSPB Big Birdhouse Tour' at the shopping centre. Winners were picked and prizes were presented at an event, which took place on Wednesday 10th February. The Mayor of Dudley, Cllr Steve Waltho, attended the ceremony to make presentations to the winners and hear the stories read out by professional storyteller Michelle Watson. The event was organised by Stourbridge company Moo and Goo.

The winning books were then printed, bound and published and will be available to view and read at intu Merry Hill. The winners each received their own personal copy of their book to keep.
