Brummie Chef To Front New TV Show

Michelin starred Brummie chef, Glyn Purnell, is set to appear in a new ITV cooking show, airing in 2017.

After his successful stints on Saturday Kitchen, Glynn will launch 'Secret Chef' on ITV early next year.

The show see's the chef teach a complete novice to cook in the hope that they'll be able to prepare a lavish meal for all their friends and family from scratch. Purnell, who recently released his second cookbook Rib Ticklers and Choux-Ins, said:

“This was probably the most difficult TV job I’ve had. I’ve taught my children to chop vegetables and help out in the kitchen - and they are better cooks than the person I was teaching.

"I had six weeks to teach this person and at the end of it he had to surprise his friends and family with a meal they thought I had cooked.

“It was quite frustrating. It proved an emotional journey for both of us. But it was worth it.”

Glynn who lives in north Warwickshire with partner Kerry and their three children, runs a restaurant and bistro in the city - the former having held a Michelin star since 2009. He's also one of the most in demand TV chefs, after presenting stints on BBC show 'Saturday Kitchen' and a recent appearance on Channel Four show 'Sunday Brunch'.
