Cafe extends opening hours for Himley Hall concerts

A popular café at the picturesque Himley Hall and park is extending its opening hours over the summer months for people to enjoy a series of band concerts.

A series of free open air concerts are being planned for the grounds of the hall for visitors to enjoy weekends in the park.

There is also the opportunity for diners to enter the hall’s gallery space to see the latest exhibitions including Amor Lego, Ron Satterthwaite’s 40 year retrospective and David Spencer’s A Wildlife Wander around the World.

From 28 July to 23 September, visitors will also be able to see the Dudley Society of Artist’s annual exhibition. Councillor Ian Kettle, cabinet member for tourism, said:

“Himley Hall and grounds is such a fabulous, historic venue with lots going on over the summer months. People can enjoy open air music, see some fantastic artwork and tuck into some delicious cakes at the café, with its extended open hours over the summer. It’s the perfect way to spend a summer afternoon.”

The coffee lounge is normally open Wednesday to Sunday from 11am to 4pm, but over the summer holidays it will be open every day of the week for people to tuck into soups, jacket potatoes, afternoon tea and delicious cakes.

The band concerts take place on 22 July, and 5 and 26 August there are free band concerts in the grounds of the hall.
