Community fun day to bring thousands to Victoria Park

More than 7,000 people are expected to attend the 12th Annual Tipton Community Funday at Victoria Park on Sunday 12 August.

Taking place from 12noon to 6pm, the fun day will be packed full of activities for all ages including fairground rides, car boots, dancing, karate demonstrations, band music on the stage, bouncy castles, climbing wall and many more attractions.

There will also be health and beauty stalls as well as various cultural and traditional food stalls. A wide range of public and voluntary organisations will also be present with information on available services in the local area. Entry to the event is free, with charges for some attractions.

The event has been organised by Bangladeshi Women’s Association in partnership with Sandwell Council and Big Lottery Fund and is supported by many partners including the police, Tipton Development Group, the Friends of Victoria Park and many others. Councillor Bill Gavan, Sandwell Council’s cabinet member for leisure, said:

“This long-established community event is always a highlight in the events calendar and promises a feast of fun for the whole community.

"It’s wonderful to see community organisations and partners joining together to put on such a fabulous family event in one of our Green Flag-awarded parks.”

BWA Limited's vision is to transform the lives of those who face disadvantage, inequality and deprivation and the team will be on hand throughout the event to talk to residents and visitors about what matters to them and activities and plans for the regeneration of Tipton.
