Council leader seeks public opinion on saving money

The leader of Dudley Council is taking to public transport to ask locals for their opinions on how the local authority should save £20 million.

Councillor Pete Lowe will be touring the borough on a National Express bus on Wednesday as part of the Big Question budget consultation.

More than 1,500 people have already had their say on the proposals, but now the council leader is heading out on to the borough’s streets to ask them directly.

It comes on the back of the council’s efforts so far, which have already seen the deficit gap reduced from an initial figure of £50 million.
