Council to invest £500,000 in social care services

Dudley Council has agreed to invest half a million pounds to help reduce demands on hospital and social care services in the borough.

The money will be used in the voluntary sector over the next three years to change the way services and support are provided in the community, looking at new ways to support people with an increased risk of needing hospital or social care services.

Key priorities include the promotion of being a healthy weight, reducing the impact of poverty and tackling isolation and loneliness.  The council says the money will help tackle some of the big issues they're facing.
