Donate unwanted Christmas presents to Acorns shops in the Black Country

Acorns Children’s Hospice is calling on the public to donate their unwanted Christmas presents to its charity shops.

If you got another pair of socks this Christmas, or you're secretly bored of getting board games, Acorns Children's Hospice are appealing for unwanted gifts to be donated to their shops.

The charity is appealing for seasonal supporters to help refresh stock at their Black Country shops for the new year by donating unwanted Christmas presents or anything you're thinking of clearing out to make room for the new things you'e been bought. Gary Pettit, Head of Retail and Retail Operations at Acorns, said:

“Don’t leave your unwanted gifts gathering dust in the back of the cupboard, give them a new lease of life by donating them to Acorns. That celebrity cook book you never wanted may be perfect for someone else.”

Acorns needs £27,000 per day to provide its care and support services with the charity’s network of over 50 shops across the West Midlands playing a key part in helping to raise those funds. Acorns shops in the Black Country include outlets in Bilston, Blackheath, Dudley, Halesowen, Kingswinford and Walsall. Gary added:

“Donating your unwanted gifts to Acorns shops is a great way to end the year. You might even need to clear space on your shelves or in your wardrobe for the presents you do love.

"Why not donate your preloved items too? By doing so you’ll be helping us continue our work caring for children and families.”

Acorns Children’s Hospice offers specialist palliative care for babies, children and young people with life limiting and life threatening conditions, as well as support for their families. In the past year, the charity has cared for more than 780 children and over 1,220 families, including those who are bereaved.

Anyone who would like to donate their unwanted Christmas presents can take them along to their local Acorns shop - to find your nearest store, visit acorns.org.uk.
