Dudley North MP pays visit to local school

Dudley MP Ian Austin will be taking part in a Q&A session with year 7 students when he visits Pegasus Academy this week.

Mr Austin will be talking to pupils about his job as an MP in Dudley, and his role in Parliament, before taking questions from the pupils as part of their ‘Citizen Me’ class.

Austin went to school in Dudley and regularly organises trips to Parliament and visits to local schools so that pupils can ask him about his role as their local MP. Speaking about the scheme, Ian said:

“Education needs to be our number one priority in Dudley, so I’m really pleased to be visiting Pegasus Academy and talking to pupils about my role as their local MP.

“It is great to see that pupils are taking an interest in politics, British values and the world around them, even at a young age. I'm looking forward to meeting the children - I just hope their questioning isn’t too tough!”
