Dudley Parks Host Easter Events For All The Family

Parks across the borough are gearing up for a packed season of events over the Easter holiday.

Dudley’s Priory Park is hosting a range of activities for families, kicking off with a pond dipping session on Monday 10th April from 2pm. For a suggested donation of £1 per child, youngsters can meet at Priory Park pond and discover the mini-beasts lurking there.

There are multi-sports sessions on Tuesday 11th and Wednesday 12th April from 2pm until 4pm, plus Thursday 13th April see's an Easter craft activity taking place, where families can decorate their own Easter eggcup, Easter card and spring animals to take home. There’s a £1 suggested donation per child and the fun starts at 2pm.

There are no bookings for any of the events, participation is on a first come, first served basis. More information is available by visiting Priory Park on Facebook.

At Mary Stevens Park in Stourbridge, a Teddy Bears Picnic kicks off their Easter sessions on Wednesday 12th April from 11am. Families can bring along their teddies and a picnic for parachute games, treasure trails, singing, dancing, story sessions and more. The event is free and there’s no need to book with families meeting at the bandstand.

There’s an Easter Treasure Trail on Saturday 15th April, kicking off at 10am. Families can drop-in to the activity centre to collect a trail map and return it completed for a prize. There will also be free face painting from 1pm until 2pm, with a suggested donation of £1.

On Friday 21st April there’s a chance to make wildflower seed bombs to take away and brighten up some bare ground. The sessions take place between 11am and 12noon and are completely free; participants should meet at the Activity Centre

Finally there’s a Stourbridge Glass Walk on Wednesday 26th April from 10am to 11.30am. It’s a chance to find out about the local glass industry, the glassmaking process and discover how Stourbridge became internationally renowned for its products. This is event is free but places are limited and must be booked. Walkers should meet by the café at 10am.
