Heroes and villains will be coming face to face at a special themed week at a Dudley borough play centre.

The Dudley Council-run Sycamore Adventure on the Old Farm Estate in Dudley is renowned for offering fun play opportunities for all children, regardless of their ability, in a safe and secure environment.

And this half term is no exception. The centre is hosting a series of heroes and villains themed activities throughout the week including superhero scavenger hunts and fancy dress competitions. It will be open to all children on Wednesday 30th May from 1pm to 4pm, Friday 1st June from 10am to 4pm and Saturday 2nd June between 11am and 2pm.

On Thursday 31st May, the centre will only open for children who have a physical or learning disability, and are in need of additional support, from 10am till 4pm.

Those who wish to attend need to register their children online by visiting sycamoreadventure.co.uk and selecting register to play, if they have not done so before.

Children will be able to experience the centre when it is quieter and make use of the sunken trampolines, sandpit, sensory room as well as the accessible water features and play structures. Councillor Angus Lees, cabinet member for children’s services, said:

“Sycamore Adventure continues to be a popular choice for local families and it can get busy during school holidays.   

“This is why the centre has decided to offer a special session for children who need that extra support during half term week.  It means they can enjoy the centre when it’s quieter and take part in activities and make use of facilities at their own pace.”

The centre is free to use but visitors are asked to make a small donation of £3 per child to help with the centre’s upkeep. For more information about the centre, term-time opening hours and details of other sessions for children with physical or learning disabilities go to dudley.gov.uk.
