Dudley To Get A New Sunday Market

Shopaholics in Dudley will be in for a treat when a new Sunday market opens on Flood Street.

Dudley Council is working in conjunction with Black Country Markets to run the new event on Flood Street Car Park from Sunday 25th September.

The stalls will be open from 10am to 4pm and will include a wide variety of produce including toys, plants, clothing, food, arts and crafts, vintage and antique, hardware and jewellery and in the run up to Christmas, a range of seasonal goods and accessories.

A funfair will provide weekly entertainment with children’s rides on offer.  There will also be a weekly car boot sale with free parking for all visitors for the first four weeks. Councillor Khurshid Ahmed, cabinet member for planning and economic development, said:

“Dudley is a fantastic town centre with a great retail offer throughout the week and this new market will help to add further attraction. I would encourage everyone who enjoys shopping to come along and try out the markets for themselves.”

Councillor Hilary Bills, cabinet member for environment, added:

“We are offering free car parking on Sundays for the first four weeks to encourage people to come and see what’s on offer and we hope that this new initiative will boost the number of people visiting and spending in Dudley on Sundays.”
