Dudley's Rock Zombie Nightclub Closed By Police

Officers in Dudley have secured the temporary closure of the Dudley nightclub, following a spate of violence.

An interim hearing yesterday (Thursday 14 July) saw the licence for Rock Zombie on King Street suspended until next month after Police were called to the King Street venue 32 times so far this year.

13 crimes have been recorded there, with a sharp spike over the last few weeks. Since 26 June there have been seven violent offences and one occasion where criminal damage was caused to a police vehicle. A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said:

"The doors to the club have been rushed by groups of men for the last two consecutive weekends and in the interests of public safety we could not allow that to happen again".

A full hearing is now due to take place on 2nd August.
