EXCLUSIVE: Corrie favourite set to turn on Stourbridge Christmas lights

Antony Cotton, best known as Sean Tully in the long running ITV soap, will press the plunger later this month.

The actor has been part of the cast of Coronation Street since 2003 and has recently confirmed his slot on the new series of 'Dancing On Ice'.

However, he will take a break from practice to visit the Black Country on November 25th and start the towns festivities, beginning with a meet and greet session in Chicago's, in the Ryemarket, during the afternoon. Antony will light up the town with the help of a lucky local resident who successfully finds the councils Christmas elves!

Organised in conjunction with Stourbridge and District Chamber of Trade, the switch on event will also include a stage hosted by Black Country Radio, a market, children’s rides, live entertainment and face painting. Jamie Whittingham, General Manager at Chicagos, said:

"We're excited to have Antony join us as part of the festivities this year, after the success of Jack P Shepherd's visit 12 months ago.

“It's clear the Black Country love Corrie and we can't wait to welcome such a fan favourite to Stourbridge to kick-start Christmas! I'd also like to extend a huge thank you to the sponsors of the day, without whom none of this could have happened."

The switch on will take place across the town and is sponsored by the Ryemarket Shopping Centre, Talbots Solicitors, Mazda Stourbridge, Tudor Markets, Chicagos and Handelsbanken.

Details of tickets for the meet and greet session will be announced in due course on the venue's Facebook page and website.
