Family Of Dudley Grandfather Pay Tribute After Fatal RTC

The family of a 65-year-old pedestrian, who died after he was struck by a car in Dudley, have paid tribute to a 'loving husband, father and grandfather'.

Dudley man Arthur Fletcher was hit by a red Nissan Juke in Priory Road at around 5.30pm on Saturday afternoon. Ambulance crews were called to the scene to treat Mr Fletcher, but he unfortunately died in hospital later that day. His family have paid tribute to him, saying:

"Arthur was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a keen photographer who was loved and will be missed but never forgotten.

"We are asking for our privacy to be respected at this time but would ask for anyone with information that may assist the investigation to contact the police."

West Midlands Police force is also appealing for witnesses to come forward. Sergeant Chris Ridge, from the force's Collision Investigation Unit, said:

"A number of people have spoken to me and my team but I am appealing to anyone who has not yet come forward and who was in the area at the time of the crash to contact me.

"Arthur's family are being supported by specially trained officers and our thoughts remain with them at this sad time."

The driver of the red Nissan was spoken to by police officers at the scene. Anyone with information is urged to contact the force's Collision Investigation Unit by emailing FL_COLLISION_INVEST@west-midlands.pnn.police.uk.

Alternatively witnesses can leave information anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
