Family pay tribute to motorcyclist killed in Halesowen crash

The family of Gemma Smith, who died in a collision in Halesowen on 14th September, have paid tribute to a 'beautiful daughter'.

The 24-year-old was involved in a serious motorbike accident on Manor Way at around 12.20pm. Gemma was treated by paramedics at the scene and despite the best efforts of medical professionals she passed away in hospital four days later. In a statement Gemma's parents said:

“We are devastated at the sudden loss of our beautiful daughter; she will always be remembered as a vibrant and active young lady who had so much to give.

"As a family we respectfully request privacy to grieve during this very difficult time.”

A police investigation is ongoing to piece together the events leading up to the collision. PC David Hand from the Collision Investigation Unit, added:

We are still keen to hear from any witnesses and particularly anyone with dash-cam footage who could assist our investigation. Our thoughts remain with her family who are being supported by specialist officers."
