Glassboys Heighten Promotion Prospects With Win Over Ashton

Stourbridge FC move up to 2nd place in the Evo-Stik premiership following a resounding 4-1 victory against Ashton Utd at the War memorial last night.

The Glassboys struck early with a goal by Kayledon Brown after 3 minutes, and Tom Tonks followed with a strike on the half hour when Ashton’s defence failed to clear the ball.

Shortly before half-time, Jordan Archer got his name on the score sheet with a goal from a very tight angle.  Will Haining pulled one back for the visitors in the 2nd half, but it was followed minutes later by another goal from Brown.The win further consolidates Stourbridge’s promotion prospects.

Tonight’s Evo-Stk premier football sees Halesowen Town at home to Stafford Rangers, and in the National league North, Kidderminster Harriers are away at Stalybridge Celtic.
