Gornal community event will be open to all

People who live or work in Gornal are being invited to attend a second community engagement event regarding disused land off Holloway Street.

Dudley Council is working with The Gornal Field friends group to look at future plans for the area. There will be a group discussion from 6pm to 8pm at the Royal British Legion, Ruiton Street, on Tuesday 10 September.

There will also be drop in sessions between 2.30pm and 5.45pm on the same day for those who are unable to attend the evening meeting.

During the sessions people will be able to hear more about the outcome of the engagement event in July where people were asked how they use the land at the moment and how they feel it might be improved and utilised in the future. Councillor Ian Kettle, cabinet member for regeneration and enterprise, said:

"I am sure these meetings will give people who live and work in Gornal the chance to talk further about improvements that could be made to the land off Holloway Street.

"The land has on occasions suffered as a result of issues such a fly tipping and antisocial behavior and we are keen to support the local community to make positive changes there."

Anyone who would like to find out more or wishes to attend the evening group discussion can call 01384 816733 or email healthycommunities@dudley.gov.uk.
