There’s stacks to do at the Red House Glass Cone and Dudley Museum at the Archives this half term.

At the Red House Glass Cone there are free family trails available every day, suitable for the over 8s, including a Titanic trail which gets youngsters to look for Titanic themed clues around the site.

There are drop in Sticky Saturdays craft session, featuring free paper craft activities for ages 4+. Youngsters can come along with their family and have a go at being messy and getting sticky, and the team tidies up.  The drop in craft activity runs on the following Saturdays:  20 January, 17 February, 17 March, 21 April, 19 May and 16 June between 1.30pm to 3.30pm. Allow about 30 minutes for the activity.

There are free glass blowing demonstrations every weekend in the hot glass studio. Visitors can watch as glass artists transform a molten piece of glass into a glass, vase, platter or objet. Demonstrations take place every weekend from 1.30pm to 3.30pm and daily during school holidays from 11am to 2.30pm.

The cone hosts a range of family events throughout the year. The events are free entry, with a £3 charge for crafts. Each event includes a variety of activities for children and families which could include interactive storytelling, crafts and a trail around a theme. The next event is Minibeasts day on Wednesday 21 February. Activities run 10am - 2.30pm and cost £3.

There’s a chance to make something in glass with a drop in session on Thursday 22 February, youngsters can make a fused glass bug from 10.30 – 2.30. Sessions cost glass £5 and must be booked in advance.

Over at Dudley Museum at the Archives there are a host of activities and events.

There’s a free family trail from Saturday 17 – Saturday 23 February from 10am – 3pm around the museum (closed Sundays)and a superhero themed family fun day on Friday 23 February. Activities run 10am - 2.30pm and cost £3.
