Harley Davidson chapter deliver festive cheer to hospitals

Stratstone Harley-Davidson’s Chapter, Wolfruna have collected hundreds of presents for local children who will be spending Christmas in hospital this year.

On Saturday, the Chapter met at the Harley-Davidson Dealership in Wolverhampton and rode to three local hospitals to deliver presents to children who will be stopping in hospital over the festive period.

More than 20 bikes gathered, along with Santa, and rode together to New Cross, Walsall Manor and Russells Hall hospitals. They were greeted by staff and children to receive their presents.

The bikers and Santa visited the children’s ward of Russells Hall hospital to meet the children who were too unwell to leave the ward. Paul Brothwood, Assistant Director of Wolfruna Chapter, said:

"We have been overwhelmed by the generosity of the public who have donated 600 presents which surpassed our expectations. The children were so grateful.”

Mark Cutler, Director of Wolfruna Chapter, added:

"We are a community spirited group and really enjoyed bringing some festive cheer to these children. The staff our doing such an amazing job at these hospitals and I hope we delivered some Christmas fun for all.”

“The reception we received from staff and patients made it all worth while and I believe Santa enjoyed the ride on my bike as well - it was very different to what he's used to!"
