Meghan Markle and Prince Harry made a ten-year-old girls morning as they arrived in the second city to a chorus of excited school children earlier today.

The royals stopped off at Millennium Point on International Womens Day, to join students at an event aiming to inspire young women to pursuse careers in STEM subjects - science, technology, engineering and maths.

Huge crowds waited for hours to catch a glimpse of the newly engaged couple who spent time greeting ‘literally hundreds’ of the well wishers on the way into the building.

One ten-year-old, an astonished Sophia Richards, told Prince Harry her dream was to be an actress. The Prince immediately pulled Sophia out of the crowd to meet Meghan - famous for her role as Rachel Zane on US drama, 'Suits'.

Sophia, a pupil at Oasis Academy Warndon in Worcester, looked stunned after meeting the couple, with Harry telling her: 'You need to be confident and you can achieve whatever you want to achieve.' The Prince also showed his soft side by making friends with a Daschund named Groot, stopping to tickle his chin and speak to his beaming owners.

Crowds had been gathering hours ahead and braved the rain waiting for the couple under a sea of umbrellas at Millennium Point. But the sun came out a few minutes before the couple arrived. Harry and Meghan are on the latest leg in the regional tours the couple are undertaking in the run-up to their May wedding.

Their trip to the Midlands is the latest leg of their tour of the country, which has seen them travel the length and breadth of the UK from Cardiff to Edinburgh. During their time in the city, they're also visiting Nechells Wellbeing Centre where they'll meet young people aged 16 - 24 who are training to become sports coaches.
