Have your say on pharmacy services in Dudley

Residents are being invited to have their say on pharmacy services in the borough with the launch of a consultation.

Dudley Health & Wellbeing Board is currently developing its Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA). It sets out the pharmacy services currently available, identifies any gaps in provision and makes recommendations on future development.

It would like to hear what users think of the current pharmaceutical services available in their local area. These include local pharmacy or chemist shops, pharmacy services in supermarkets, GP practices that dispense medicines for their patients and online pharmacies.

Local pharmacies also provide healthcare help and advice and are often the first point of contact when people are concerned about their health. Councillor Peter Miller, chair of Dudley Health & Wellbeing Board, said:

“We want to make sure that service users can access pharmaceutical services easily and that they are happy with the service they receive.

“This is an opportunity for you to help develop the borough’s PNA, which sets out the services currently provided and recommends how they should be developed in the future.

“Your views and opinions are vital in helping to ensure that good quality, cost-effective pharmacy services are delivered to residents.”Anyone who uses local pharmacy services is invited to comment on the draft (PNA) and complete the on-line survey on the council's website.

The consultation is now open until February 13th.
