Hickorys Smokehouse reopens like a phoenix from the flames

Black Country food lovers are over the moon as Hickory's Smokehouse in Wall Heath reopen's its doors.

Last August, the restaurant was ravaged by fire - but after a series of preview nights to say thank you to local residents for their support, the smokehouse is back to entertain guests with mouth-watering authentic American meals.

The southern style restaurant proved a big hit with locals since it reinvigorated the site of the former Kingfisher Hotel. Demand for the reopening is such that many evening services are booked up to a month in advance.

The building has taken the original design and enhanced the decor with sumptuous interiors and an authentic feel. The design has been slightly extended and also now boasts larger front windows, making the restaurant look brighter and more airy than previously.

The inside has undergone a complete design overhaul, swapping the large TV-laden booths with more intimate tables. The restaurant still includes a cinema room for the kids but there is now an outdoor yard, complete with a pair of table tennis tables.

Dudley South MP, Mike Wood, said he was “delighted” to attend one of the pre-opening events at Hickory’s last week. He said:

“It has been a long haul for the company to get this restaurant re-built after the devastating fire last year. It was a real pleasure to join everyone at the pre-opening event and really good to see this extremely popular restaurant, in my constituency, back in business again.

“I was delighted to hear that Hickory's Smokehouse are employing over 100 staff which will be good for the local community.”

Bookings can be made for the rebuilt restaurant online at hickorys.co.uk, or by calling 01384 928494.
