Hundreds flock to Hospice for Easter event!

Hundreds of children from all over the West Midlands attended an Easter egg hunt and coffee morning in support of Mary Stevens Hospice.

The annual Easter celebration event took place on Saturday 20th April in the grounds of the Mary Stevens Hospice and included three Easter egg hunts, Easter games and crafts, a petting zoo provided by Animal Mania and live music from the Mary Stevens Hospice Choir and The X-Factor's Russell Jones.

The Hospice also received a huge wave of support from the local business community in the build-up to the event, as companies such as Pertemps Dudley, Repose Seating Solutions and MSC Industrial Supply collecting Easter eggs to donate to the Hospice to use in the event.

Hospice staff took all of the eggs that were left over from the event up to Russell's Hall Hospital on Saturday evening to be given to all of the children on the C2 ward who were spending their Easter bank holiday in hospital. Laura Amy, Event Organiser, Mary Stevens Hospice said:

“I honestly can't tell you how wonderful a day we had on Saturday and it's a truly beautiful thing to see families smiling, laughing and making memories!

“We are so privileged to have the support we receive from volunteers, supporters and our local business community and this event and these memories simply wouldn't be possible without all the incredible people who go the extra mile to make it happen.

“Thank you so much to everyone who came, and we can't wait to see you all at more of our events during the course of the year!"

The Hospice run regular events in the community to raise the £3.2 million needed to care for families each year and have already run a Christmas tree collection, a virtual marathon and a charity football match in 2019.
