Learn the ropes at the Crystal

Youngsters can scale new heights with fresh climbing courses at Crystal Leisure Centre in Stourbridge.

Dudley Council is offering the weekly sessions to children aged nine to 15 years from the start of the new school term.

The 13 one-hour sessions will take place at 6pm and 7pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 11 September. They will be held in the centre’s purpose built climbing room under the supervision of a qualified climbing instructor. Councillor Ian Kettle, cabinet member responsible for leisure centres, said:

"We are delighted to be able to offer these new climbing courses, it is a skill that improves fitness and helps young people to build confidence.

"I would encourage parents to book up their child onto the course soon as spaces will go fast. Safety equipment, including helmets and harnesses are provided for use on the course."

Courses cost £80.60 per child with a 50 per cent discount available to Options + Leisure Discount card holders. The course concludes in early December.
