Local Samaritan to run three charity events in three months

Sue Williams has supported the Hospice for more than 25 years

A big-hearted Hagley woman is running three events in three months, to raise funds for the Mary Stevens Hospice.

Sue Williams' fundraising campaign will begin at a charity skittles night on the 15th September, at The Fountain at Clent, which costs just £15 per person and will include a full 2-course dinner.

Then, in October, she'll be hosting "An Evening with Lord Cobham", giving locals the opportunity to dine with the resident Lord of Hagley Hall, and gleam a rare insight into his fascinating past, the day-to-day life of a Lord and his ambitions for the future of Hagley Hall.

Her efforts will conclude on Thursday 16th November, with a trip to the iconic Blenheim Palace, including full access to the Oxfordshire landmark which attracts visitors from all across the world every year.

Sue's connection, and contribution, to the Hospice dates back to the very beginnings of the Hagley Road charity, as she was part of the initial fundraising project to get the charity off the ground back in 1991.

She has regularly run fundraising events for more than a quarter of a century, and hopes that her latest efforts can help families relying on the charity she so passionately supports. Charlotte Schofield, Head of Fundraising & Lottery, Mary Stevens Hospice Group said:

“There aren't many women like Sue Williams in this world, and we are so privileged to call her a supporter, a fundraiser and a friend.

"Her efforts make our work possible, it's as simple as that. She donates her time, her talents and her passion to put on fantastic events for all of our community to enjoy, and doing so makes care available to families in their hour of greatest need.

"Words don't do justice when you're trying to explain what a contribution like that means to a charity like ours, she's a remarkable woman."

If you would like to book tickets for any of Sue's events, please call 01562 883 834. Tickets can only be booked over the phone, and early booking is recommended to avoid disappointment.
