Man charged over Dudley murder

Detectives investigating the fatal shooting of Mohammed Haroon Zeb in Dudley have charged a man with his murder.

Mr Zeb, known as Haroon, was shot in Queens Cross during the early hours of 31 January and later died in hospital.

Following enquiries Hassan Tasleem was arrested on Wednesday and was charged with murder this morning. The 23-year-old, of Richmond Road, Dudley, was remanded to appear before Wolverhampton Magistrates Court today (12 February). Detective Chief Inspector Jim Munro, from the force homicide team, said:

"This is a significant development in what is still a very active investigation. This remains an extremely difficult time for Mr Zeb's family and we're determined to get answers and justice for them."

As part of the investigation a 26-year-old woman was earlier this week arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and three men - aged between 19 to 26 - were previously detained on suspicion of perverting the course of justice. They have all been bailed.

A 37-year-old man was previously arrested on suspicion of murder but has since been released with no further action.
