Mayor Rocks And Rides Into Town

The Mayor of Dudley is gearing up the end of his term of office with a host of fundraising events including a rock themed car and bike show.

The event takes place this Sunday, May 8th, at the River Rooms on Mill Race Lane, Stourbridge with music from rock band 'Black Country Rock'.

It is being staged by Stourbridge Motorcycle Club to raise funds for the Mayor's five chosen charities, and runs from noon til 6pm. Admission to the River Rooms is £3 on the day. Councillor Steve Waltho, Mayor of Dudley, said:

"I own a motorbike and have a love of rock music so I'm indebted to Bob Curtis and his colleagues at SMCC for organising this event. It should be a great afternoon with something for all the family.

“There will be stalls, food and some wonderful machines on show outside, with local rock bands playing inside the River Rooms all giving their time to support my charities.”

The Mayor’s five charities are The Hope Centre, The What? Centre, More Mascots Please, Leukaemia Unit Appeal Fund, Russells Hall and The West Midlands Lupus Group.
