Shops at Merry Hill shut when a bag of rubbish sparked a partial evacuation today.
Pictures on social media showed shutters down on at least one shop, and an area of the centre cordoned off at around 11.25am.

West Midlands Police later confirmed that a bag of rubbish in Paperchase had sparked the alert, and the incident was over before 12:00.
