Midlands Air Ambulance raises vital funds with virtual quiz

National broadcaster and local lad, Richie Anderson, hosted a virtual quiz for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, which proved to be a big success.

The charity made the Facebook live quiz free to join, although there was the option to make a donation for those who were able to spare some cash.
The event didn't disappoint, with £1,260 raised on the night, which will fund five of the charity’s critical care car missions. The charity also noticed an increase in the amount of online donations given on its website. Richie said:

“I was honoured to be asked to host Midlands Air Ambulance Charity’s virtual quiz. It’s a great cause, which I always support where I can and I’m glad the general public got involved to help us all reach an amazing total!”

Prizes were also available from the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity range of merchandise and a goody bag was sent to the team with the best name; ‘Quaranteam’. Emma Gray, fundraising and marketing director for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, added:

“As a number of our popular fundraising events had been postponed or cancelled, we are so pleased Richie Anderson leant a hand and helped engage with our supporters through our virtual quiz.

"Throughout the COVID-19 crisis, the demand for our pre-hospital emergency care service has not faltered, which is why we are focusing on online fundraising to make sure the donations continue for our important lifesaving cause.”
