Stourbridge MP Margot James is delighted that contracts have been exchanged between Dudley Council and developers for the regeneration of Colley Gate in Cradley.

Alongside the Cradley Action Group, Margot has been working with the local community to regenerate the area after a number of properties and businesses fell into disrepair. Reacting to the news, Margot said:

“I am delighted that we have reached this important milestone, which means that the appointed developers can now proceed to draw up a detailed plan to transform the area.

“It is a vital development for Cradley residents, who have been awaiting action for some time. The regeneration will see major improvement to the look and appearance of Colley Gate and is the result of continuous community pressure.

“Since I was elected, I have campaigned alongside the community for this regeneration, and I am relieved as well as thrilled with this important news.”

Chris Legiewicz of the Cradley Residents Association added:

“These derelict shops have been an eyesore for so many years and it seems quite surreal that contracts have finally been exchanged.

“I’m so glad that we have had the support of the village and of our MP to make sure that this happens.”
