Murder investigation launched in Halesowen

A murder investigation has been launched after a man was found with fatal stab wounds in Halesowen this morning.

The 34-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene in Springfield Drive and a cordon has been set up with several road closures in place, as officers search the area for forensic evidence and conduct house to house enquiries. Detective Inspector Caroline Corfield, from the force’s homicide unit, said::

“We believe the man was attacked around 1.30am this morning and we are appealing for anyone with information to contact us.

“We understand that the road closures in place will create disruption for local residents, but I ask that you bear with us while we try to establish how this man has met his death.

“His family have been informed and we are supporting them after receiving such tragic news.”

Anyone who has CCTV or dash-cam footage which they believe could help the investigation is urged to contact officers as soon as possible.

The homicide team can be contacted via Live Chat at west-midlands.police.uk between 8am and midnight, call 101 anytime or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Road closures: Springfield Drive, Greenhill Road and Springfield Road between Long Lane and Olive Hill Road.
