Netherton to host market event for young people with special needs

Young people with special educational needs and disabilities can benefit from an event being organised by SENDIASS.

The event, ‘Supporting young people with SEND in making informed decisions about their futures’, takes place in Netherton on Friday 16 November from 10am to 2pm.

Dudley's SENDIASS service, which provides impartial support and advice to young people and their families, is aiming the event at young people aged 14 – 25 and those who support them.

It has been organised to inform and support the young people in making decisions relating to their special educational needs and disabilities and will bring together the wide range of services and agencies available as they make their transition into adulthood. Councillor Sue Ridney, cabinet member for children’s services, said:

"Dudley Council is passionate about supporting all our young people in reaching their potential and fulfilling their dreams.

"This fantastic event is being organised to provide tailored support to young people who have special educational needs or disabilities and I am sure it will prove most useful to them and their families.”

The event is being held at Saltwells Education Centre in Netherton, with registration from 9.30am. It is free but people should reserve a place in advance by calling 01384 817373.
