Netherton woman jailed for lying over speeding fine

A Netherton woman has been jailed for lying to police over a speeding fine-all to avoid three points on her license.

University graduate Ayesha Ahmed from Baptist End Road, was caught speeding in her BMW twice, by a mobile camera parked near her home in St Peter’s Road.

But rather than accept punishment, she paid £450 to Nosheen Yoqum, from Forrester Street in Walsall, to suggest he was driving at the time.

Enquiries revealed eight other speeding offences had been attributed to drivers living at the same Walsall address.

She was jailed for three months at Wolverhampton Crown Court after being found guilty of trying to pervert the course of justice.
