Following a 'Parks for People' funded project at Stevens Park, Quarry Bank, a unique opportunity has arisen for the lease of a new café on site.

Dudley Council, working with partners – the Emily Jordan Foundation Projects – has refurbished Tintern House as part of an ongoing major modernisation of the park. This refurbishment includes a new café facility for use by the public, together with customers of the Emily Jordan Foundation Projects.

The Emily Jordan Foundation Projects provide support for people with learning disabilities to lead fulfilled lives. They will be developing horticultural training opportunities, a bike recycling workshop as well as other opportunities to support people with learning disabilities to move closer towards work. Councillor Karen Shakespeare, cabinet member for public realm said:

"This is a unique opportunity for anyone looking to run a café in the area. Tintern House and Stevens Park are part of the town’s, and borough’s, rich heritage.

"Those interested in running the facility must demonstrate a long-term commitment to the project, including a pledge to provide future training and employment for people with learning disabilities from the Emily Jordan Foundation Projects."

The restoration works to the park have included the renovation of the main gates, entrances and band stand, and improvements to the War Memorial and wider landscape. 

Closing date for completed applications is by close of play on 4 June 2021.
