New Trust Chair at Dudley and Walsall Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust

Ben Reid, who joined the trust in April 2016, will be stepping down from his role as Chair at the end of January.

Ben will be taking up the role of Chair at The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospitals NHS Trust. He has played an instrumental role in developing the Transforming Care Together partnership and supporting the strategic development of the Trust. 

Bosses are pleased to announce that NHS Improvement have approved the appointment of Harry Turner, one of the current non-executive directors and Vice-Chair. Harry will be stepping up to the post of Chair for the Trust from 1st February 2018. 

Harry was born and educated in the Black Country and his professional career has been spent in the hospitality sector, managing a range of hotel groups, golf courses and leisure clubs. Alongside this, he has held a number of Board level positions in the NHS, most recently as Chair of Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust. Speaking about his new role Harry said:

“As a member of the Board I recognise the importance of delivering high quality Mental Health services. I am looking forward to spending time meeting and listening to staff and working with our partners to build on our success to date and to continue developing outstanding and sustainable services for the population we serve.” 

Mark Axcell, Chief Executive, added: “I look forward to working closely with Harry. He has already made a positive impact in his role as non-executive director His knowledge of the NHS and the importance of Mental Health will help the Trust to continue to build on its successes.
