Ninth arrest made in Dudley murder investigation

Police have arrested a ninth person as part of the investigation into the shooting of Mohammed Haroon Zeb in Dudley last month.

Mr Zeb, known as Haroon, was taken to hospital with serious injuries after being shot in Queens Cross just after 12.35am on 31 January. A post mortem found the 39-year-old died of a gunshot wound.

A 47-year-old man is currently in police custody on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder.

Two men have already appeared at court in relation to the case and have been remanded ahead of their next court appearance.

Hassan Tasleem, 23, of Richmond Road, appeared at court two weeks ago after being charged with Haroon’s murder. Akarsh Tasleem, aged 25, of Shaw Road, was arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit murder last Thursday (18 February).

As part of the investigation a 26-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, and three men - aged between 19 to 26 - were previously detained on suspicion of perverting the course of justice. They have all been bailed.

A 37-year-old man was previously arrested on suspicion of murder but has since been released with no further action. Another man, aged 20 has also been arrested and released on bail.
