One week left to register to vote

Dudley Borough residents have just one week left to make sure they’re registered to vote in next month’s local elections.

People will be heading to the polls on May 3 to elect local councillors across the borough.

But people need to make sure they are registered by April 17 or they will not be able to vote. Sarah Norman, chief executive and electoral returning officer at Dudley Council, said:

“Registering to vote is essential if people want to have their say in how local services are provided for them. It really is very quick and simple to do and ensures people have their say in what goes on.”

People can also register to vote by post which has to be done by 5pm on April 18. Those wanting to vote by proxy need to register by 5pm on April 25.

You can register online at gov.uk/registertovote or by contacting the Elections Office on 01384 814740.  People will need their date of birth and national insurance number to complete the registration.
