Police Appeal For Help After Dudley Hit And Run

Police are appealing for information after a teenager died in a hit-and-run collision in Dudley last night.

Officers were called to reports of a collision between an Audi and Ford Fiesta in Priory Road at 10.35pm.

The driver of the Fiesta, 18 year-old Georgie Ann Evans from Himley, was confirmed dead at the scene while a passenger suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The Audi was abandoned and officers are carrying out enquiries to trace a man who was seen fleeing the scene.

A tribute from Georgie's parents said: “Our beautiful, kind-hearted and spirited daughter has been taken away from us. We appeal to anyone to please come forward with any information that may assist the investigation.”

Sergeant Chris Ridge, from the West Midlands Police Collision Investigation Unit, said: "A young woman has tragically lost her life and we have specialist officers supporting her family at this time.

"We are examining CCTV in the area as we try to piece together what happened and I would ask anyone who saw anything to get in contact.

"I would appeal directly to driver to do the right thing and come forward.”

Anyone with information can call 101 or email FL_COLLISION_INVEST@west-midlands.pnn.police.uk.
