Police arrest 3 teenagers after Stourbridge stabbing

Detectives investigating the fatal stabbing of a man at a Stourbridge bar have arrested three teenagers on suspicion of murder.

Ryan Passey, from Stockwell Avenue in Quarry Bank, Brierley Hill, was attacked in Chicago’s on the Rye Market in the early hours of Sunday morning (6 August).

The 24-year-old suffered a stab wound to the chest and later died in hospital; a post mortem examination is due to take place later today.

West Midlands Police detectives yesterday arrested three men, all aged 19, on suspicion of involvement in the attack.

One was arrested at 3pm having handed himself in to West Bromwich Police station, while the others were detained later that evening from separate home addresses in Dudley. Detective Chief Inspector Ed Foster, said:

“We’ve made quick progress in this investigation and three suspects are now in police custody for questioning over the murder.

“We’ve already spoken to many people who were at the bar at the time Mr Passey was attacked – around 1am – but we still need more witnesses to come forward.

“If you saw what happened or have any information that could help then enquiry then please call us. The information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, could prove crucial to the enquiry.”
