Police hunt for third victim following Wolverhampton triple stabbing

Police have launched an appeal for information following a triple stabbing in Wolverhampton on Sunday (28 April).

Officers were called to North Street, near to Wolverhampton Civic Hall, just after 12am where two men were found with serious injuries. They were rushed to hospital where they remain in a serious but stable condition.

A third man sustained a cut to his hand, but fled the scene before officers arrived. Investigators are now appealing for this individual to come forward and assist the ongoing investigation.

He sought medical treatment at the triage centre in Wolverhampton and then got into a Go Cars taxi and asked to be taken to Dunkley Street, Wolverhampton, but was dropped off in Waterloo Road.

He is described as white, 5ft 9ins tall, aged in his mid-20s and slim. He had short black hair and a short black beard. It’s understood he is a Romanian national and speaks little English.

At present no arrests have been made, but officers are also actively seeking the suspect who made off towards Waterloo Road on a pushbike. Detective Sergeant Chris Jones, who is leading the investigation, said:

“We are keen to trace the third man who was attacked to speak to him about the circumstances of this violent stabbing.

“Naturally he’ll have vital information about what happened and we’re keen for him to come forward and speak to us in order to progress the on-going inquiry and find the person responsible.

“We would also like to speak to anyone who was in the area in particular a member of the public (a witness) who cycled through the subway just prior to the attack. CCTV shows that he was chased for a short distance by one of the victims.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact officers via Live Chat at west-midlands.police.uk between 8am and midnight or to call 101 anytime.

Crimestoppers can be called anonymously on 0800 555 111.
