Popular youth festival returns to Sandwell park

Sandwell's annual youth festival comes to Sandwell Valley Country Park on Saturday 14 July.

The SHAPE Youth Festival will include live music, a climbing wall, zorb football, graffiti art, a UV silent disco, photobooth and a junior funfair.

There will be performances from the finalists of the SHAPE Your Talent 2018 competition, plus other local artists including cultural acts such as Polish dancers and a bhangra smash up band.

There’s human football, wipe out sweeper, a gladiator duel, bungee run, inflatable football dartboard and Sandwell Park Farm will have some of their animals there. There’ll also be a mini-gym, the youth bus, magic and circus tricks plus lots more. Admission to the festival is free though some activities do have a small charge. Sandwell Council’s cabinet member for children’s services Councillor Simon Hackett said:

“It’s going to be a great day out at Sandwell Valley. We want to celebrate the diversity of Sandwell, for young people to enjoy themselves, to meet new people and above all, have fun.”

The day kicks off with the Blind Dave Colour Run at 11am - a five kilometre walk, jog or run around Sandwell Valley where coloured powder will be thrown at participants along the course.

Tickets for the Colour Run are £12.50 per person or a family package for two adults and two children for £44. For more details and to book a place on the Colour Run, visit the SHAPE website.
