Pub burglar fell asleep at wheel of stolen car

A burglar, who fell asleep at the wheel of the car he’d just stolen from a Halesowen pub, has been jailed for six months.

Drug addict Scott Tandy stole the keys for a Nissan from The Fairfield pub, a day after being released from prison.

Tandy, who was high on heroin and diazepam, only drove the vehicle across the road before falling asleep. The owner quickly notified police when she realised the car had gone.

The 38 year-old, of Kingswood Road, Nuneaton, admitted burglary and also failing to provide police officers with a specimen.
